Shop-Steward Training

Unionisable KPRL employees attended the Shop Steward training at Royal Court Hotel that began on 6-9th, September, 2011. The training was officially opened by Mr. Augustine Kavyu (KPRL Tanks & Maintenance Manager). In his opening speech, Mr. Kavyu reiterated the importance of training at KPRL to its employees and the need for employees to take up such opportunities for their career progression.
The facilitators of the training were Mr. Aaron Mwaura and Mrs. Milcah Waithaka of Eureka Education and Training Consultants. Mr. Mwaura began by informing the participants the objectives of the course which included; participants being conversant with the new labor laws, acquiring leadership skills that will enable them to adequately represent their fellow union members effectively at work, negotiation skills during Collective Bargaining Agreements and good communication skills for solving grievances.
